Days for Girls Workshops

SUMC is a registered chapter of Days for Girls (www.daysforgirls.org), an organization that provides quality sustainable feminine hygiene kits and education to girls and women in over 75 countries to help reverse the cycle of poverty.

We continue to make kits for girls in Ghana and Uganda in support of mission teams traveling to these countries in October, November, and February. We have a great time at our workshops and hope that you would like to join us at any time on the following dates:

Workshops will take a break over the summer and will resume in the      fall. Please feel free to reach out to the contacts below for more info in      the meantime.

We'll have sergers, all the things needed to pack kits, and a few sewing machines, but you are welcome to bring your scissors, machines, rotary cutters, and any friends who want to join us!

We also welcome donations of the following:

  • colorful washcloths - please see new DfG International Policy issued June 2017 by clicking here on types of washcloths accepted based on feedback from the girls that receive them
  • hotel size bar soap
  • boxes of gallon freezer Ziplock brand (no sliders) plastic bags
  • cotton fabric (quilt & flannel)
  • overlocker & sewing thread
