I hope that this site provides you with valuable information about who we are as Simsbury United Methodist Church, a people of God with “Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors.” We encourage you to read our Mission and Vision statements, to learn about our outreach ministries and fellowship, and to explore our educational offerings for adults, children and youth.

Most of all, we want to invite you to join us in worship as both the foundation and gateway into our community of seekers and believers.

We look forward to greeting you!

Pastor Woody Eddins

Greetings, Grace & Peace!

It is such a privilege to be serving as Assistant Pastor & Director of Student Ministries at SUMC.

I am passionate about helping people to explore their spirituality, deepening their relationship with God, and growing in their relationships with one another.

In addition to providing general pastor care and support, I’m also responsible for providing direction for some of our adult ministries, including education and spiritual formation. We regularly offer new opportunities for study and growth through classes, small groups, workshops and retreats. Check out our Adult Spiritual Growth tab for details.

I also have the privilege of leading the ministries to our Jr. & Sr. High students. Changing times call for changing programs so that we can remain relevant and accessible to our young people. To accommodate the demands of their busy schedules, we are multiplying our ministry opportunities.

These fall into several distinct categories which include:

  • Classes and studies
  • Topical Discussion Groups
  • Social Events
  • Service Projects
  • Ecumenical Activities with other churches and organizations
  • Multi-generational ministries

While most will not be able to participate in all of these offerings, it is our hope that our teens can find meaningful involvement in several different ways that allow them to express their love for God and others, and ultimately grow spiritually while also becoming better prepared for life as young adults. Check out or Youth & Student Ministries Tab for a current list of upcoming events, activities and resources.

I would welcome to opportunity to speak with you about SUMC. I hope that by exploring our website you will get a good taste of the ministries and programs we offer.

I believe that people in Simsbury want the same kind of support that any community does. All people need to be loved and affirmed, to find meaning in life, and to find a supportive network. I hope that you experience Simsbury United Methodist Church as this kind of caring community.
